+ +Getting started
+ +How do I install Edge?
+On iPhone, join the TestFlight beta. + On Android, download the APK from + the latest release. + One app works with WHOOP 4.0, 5.0 and MG.
+ +How do I update?
+On iPhone, the TestFlight app installs new builds (you get an email when one is ready). + If automatic updates are off, open TestFlight and tap Update. + On Android, open the newer APK and it installs over the old one, keeping your data.
+ +Will my TestFlight access expire?
+Each TestFlight build lasts 90 days. New builds are published before that, and your + access carries over to them.
+ +Android says the app was blocked by Play Protect
+Play Protect warns about apps installed from outside the Play Store that ask for + sensitive permissions. Edge's optional feature that buzzes the band for phone + notifications needs notification access, which triggers the warning. The APK on + the releases page is the one built from this repository's source.
+ +How can I check a build is the real one?
+Releases are built by GitHub Actions from the tagged source and published on the + releases page, which lists a + checksum for each file. Only install builds from there or from the TestFlight link above.
+ +Pairing and syncing
+ +My band won't pair, or it says connected but no data arrives
+-
+
- Forget the band in Edge and in your phone's Bluetooth settings. +
- Take the band off your wrist and wait for the green light to go off. +
- Tap the top of the band firmly until it flashes blue (pairing mode). +
- Pair again from Edge. +
If it keeps happening, send a report from Profile → Settings → Report an issue + so the logs reach us.
+ +Can I use the official WHOOP app at the same time?
+Don't. The band sends its data to one app at a time, so two apps compete for it. + The official app can also install firmware updates on the band; Edge is tested on the + firmware your band has now, so keep the band away from it.
+ +Does Edge need to stay open?
+No. Edge keeps syncing in the background. If you force-close it, it catches up the + next time it opens, which can take a few minutes after a long gap.
+ +Scores
+ +Why don't I have a recovery score yet?
+Edge learns your personal baseline from its own measurements, which takes about + 14 nights of wear. Until then, recovery stays empty instead of showing a number it + can't stand behind.
+ +I imported my WHOOP history. Why do I still have to wait 14 nights?
+Your WHOOP history is imported and shows up in your history and trends. But those + numbers were calculated by WHOOP's own methods, which measure HRV and resting heart + rate differently. Using them as your baseline would compare every new night from Edge + against a different method and skew your scores, so the baseline comes from Edge's own + nights.
+ +Your data
+ +Can I import my WHOOP or NOOP data?
+Yes, from Profile → Export and backup → Import a file. + A WHOOP data export brings in your daily recovery, sleep and strain. A NOOP export + brings in its recorded sensor data, which Edge then scores itself.
+ +I'm getting a new phone. How do I keep my data?
+Everything lives on your phone, so deleting the app deletes your data. Before you + switch, go to Profile → Export and backup and export the database or an + encrypted backup, move the file to the new phone, import it there with + Import a file, then pair your band again. The backup holds your data but not + your profile or settings, so enter those again on the new phone.
+ +Does my data leave my phone?
+Your health data stays on your phone unless you choose to send it, for example to + Apple Health or Health Connect, an AI coach you set up, or an issue report. Two other + things can leave it: anonymous crash reports, only while Settings → Crash + reports is on, and barcodes you scan in the food log, which are looked up on + Open Food Facts (turn that off with Settings → Look barcodes up online). + Neither includes your health data. The privacy policy has the + detail.
