Summary

  • zabbix (all 128 leaves, 3.0-trunk): upstream Ubuntu images run in POSIX. ENV LANG=C.UTF-8 (LC_ALL unset, -e LANG=... overrides), uk_UA / de_DE / fr_FR UTF-8 added to locale.gen, explicit locale-gen (locales' postinst does not rebuild an existing set), fatal assertions: locales present (name compared case/dash-insensitively - old Ubuntu lists C.UTF-8), charmap UTF-8, Cyrillic counted as characters.
  • python (all 19 lines): fatal assertion that the interpreter prints Cyrillic through a pipe with the image's default environment. 2.x-3.6 depend on the base light LANG=C.UTF-8 from Base light: LANG=C.UTF-8, extra UTF-8 locales, fatal locale assertions #181, so they need the new base first (CI chain order guarantees it; the Sunday cron rebuilds base before runtimes).
  • README (zabbix) and CHANGELOG.

Verified locally

  • zabbix 3.0/agent, 6.0/web-mysql, 7.4/server-pgsql built: LANG=C.UTF-8, charmap UTF-8, override works, agent starts, users unchanged.
  • python check against published 2.6 / 3.0 / 3.6 / 3.13 / dev: passes with C.UTF-8, fails without it on 2.6 / 3.0 / 3.6 (3.7+ coerce to UTF-8 themselves).

…it locale-gen, fatal locale assertions; python (all): fatal UTF-8 I/O assertion (Cyrillic through a pipe)
