IanCou/README.md

Hi, I'm Ian.

CS at UMD (graduating May 2028), QUEST Honors. I do infrastructure. I like performant and efficient systems.

What I do now

  • Student SysAdmin @ UMIACS: bare-metal provisioning, Slurm, Puppet, and LDAP across a 40+ node GPU cluster used by 200+ researchers
  • SWE Intern @ Bold Insight: built an applicant-tracking platform that saves hundreds of thousands a year over paid panel services
  • Director of Technical Operations @ App Dev Club: run the infra behind a 400+ member org, self-hosted SSO, cut AWS spend 80%

What I build for fun

  • 3-node Proxmox homelab built on machines destined for ewaste, running 50+ self-hosted services, Terraform + Ansible + GitOps CI/CD

Hackathons

  • Replay (Devpost): full-body 3D motion capture at BitCamp, fusing ARKit with ESP32 IMU nodes over WiFi
  • Splatt (Devpost): phone video to 3D Gaussian splats, $1K win
