flows/license-compliance-auditor.ts references @scripts/license-compliance-auditor_code-node-210_code.ts, but the file was silently excluded by the repo root .gitignore's bare `scripts` rule (matches any scripts/ dir at any depth) and never made it into the initial commit. Force-adding it here. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01NxffgYPXJcwTYWDnkDu5KG

- Line 62: Update the advance_schema definition near the dependency license
inputs to include the deployment-mode field, then propagate that value through
the classifier and report prompt so deployment-specific license policy is
applied. Preserve the existing dependency_licenses and allow_list fields and
their current behavior.
- Around line 40-42: Add the missing production classifier script referenced by
license_compliance_auditor_code_node_210_code under the scripts location, or
update that reference to the existing checked-in classifier file; ensure the
resolved path matches the asset included for deployment.
In `@kits/license-compliance-auditor/README.md`:
- Line 25: Update the documentation to describe dependency_licenses consistently
as a JSON-encoded string, matching the string schema in
triggerNode_1.data.values.advance_schema and the raw JSON sent by
samples/test_flow.js. Apply this wording in
kits/license-compliance-auditor/README.md:25-25 and
kits/license-compliance-auditor/agent.md:15-15; no flow or sample changes are
needed.
- Line 28: Update the kit’s response mapping so the classifier’s structured
findings—summaries, counts, and policy violations—are returned alongside
LLMNode_430.output.generatedResponse as the markdown report. Keep the report
field intact, and revise the sample and README documentation to reflect the
expanded structured compliance result.
- Line 7: Update the classification vocabulary in the README.md line 7 and
agent.md line 9 to use the public status values PERMITTED, RESTRICTED,
FORBIDDEN, and UNKNOWN consistently, replacing OK, BLOCKED, and REVIEW_NEEDED
without changing the surrounding behavior or documentation scope.
- Around line 17-19: Update the README and compliance prompts to describe
results as screening guidance, not legal advice: state that outcomes depend on
license version, intended use, distribution model, and applicable exceptions;
require legal review before making the final shipping decision; preserve the
sample’s “may require” wording; and clarify that BLOCKED is a conservative
policy classification, not a deterministic legal prohibition.
In `@kits/license-compliance-auditor/samples/test_classifier.js`:
- Line 22: Update the license-expression parsing and classification flow in the
classifier so it evaluates every SPDX alternative instead of selecting only the
first term. For OR expressions, allow the dependency when any operand is
allow-listed; for AND expressions, retain and enforce obligations from all
operands. Add assertions covering both operand orders, including GPL-3.0 OR MIT
and MIT OR GPL-3.0.
In `@kits/license-compliance-auditor/samples/test_flow.js`:
- Line 47: Update the timeout lifecycle in the fetch flow so the timer remains
active through response-body reads such as response.text() or response.json().
Move the clearTimeout call currently in the finally block to execute only after
the complete response-processing promise settles, while preserving cleanup for
both success and failure paths.
- Line 39: Validate that API_URL uses the https: protocol before the fetch
request sends the Authorization bearer credential. Reject non-HTTPS values from
LAMATIC_API_URL before entering the fetch flow, while preserving the existing
request behavior for valid HTTPS endpoints.

Thanks for the review! Pushed a fix commit addressing the feedback: Fixed:
Not changed (stemmed from the PR description, not the code): the "add a deployment-mode field to advance_schema" and "use PERMITTED/RESTRICTED/FORBIDDEN/UNKNOWN vocabulary" comments were flagging a mismatch against my first PR description draft, which I'd already rewritten to accurately match the actual code (2-field schema, @coderabbitai review |
…put, security hardening
- Classifier now correctly handles SPDX compound license expressions
("GPL-3.0 OR MIT" -> OK, "Apache-2.0 AND GPL-3.0" -> BLOCKED) instead
of only inspecting the first term of the expression.
- Response node now returns structured findings (has_violations,
total_deps, blocked_count, review_count, findings[]) alongside the
markdown report, so CI consumers can gate on has_violations without
parsing prose.
- README clarifies dependency_licenses must be sent as a JSON-encoded
string on the wire (matching the trigger's string schema), matching
samples/test_flow.js's actual behavior.
- Added a "not legal advice" disclaimer to README, agent.md, and the
report-generation prompt.
- samples/test_flow.js: enforce https:// before sending the bearer
token, and keep the abort timeout active through response-body reads
instead of clearing it as soon as headers arrive.

Thanks for catching this — you were right, and it was worse than the example showed. Traced it locally: `GPL-3.0 AND (MIT OR Apache-2.0)` was actually resolving to `OK` (not just `REVIEW_NEEDED`), because the naive `/\sOR\s/i` substring check fired on the nested OR even though it's under a top-level AND, then split the string incorrectly and silently dropped the GPL-3.0 obligation. That's a genuine false-negative, not just an edge-case gap. Fixed in 05ee56b: any expression containing parentheses (after stripping one fully-wrapping outer layer) or mixing both `AND`+`OR` is now detected up front and routed to `REVIEW_NEEDED` — never guessed at. Added regression tests for both directions (`GPL-3.0 AND (MIT OR Apache-2.0)` and `GPL-3.0 OR (MIT AND Apache-2.0)`, both now correctly `REVIEW_NEEDED`), and documented the flat-expressions-only limitation in the README's Tradeoffs section as a deliberate scope boundary rather than a silent gap. @coderabbitai review |
classify() only parsed flat "A OR B" / "A AND B" expressions correctly. For nested/parenthesized expressions like "GPL-3.0 AND (MIT OR Apache-2.0)", the naive substring-based OR/AND detection fired on the nested operator and mis-split the string, in one traced case silently returning OK for an expression that should be BLOCKED (the GPL-3.0 obligation was dropped). Nested or mixed expressions are now detected up front and routed to REVIEW_NEEDED instead of guessed at, per CodeRabbit review feedback on PR Lamatic#404. Good catch on the paren-stripping logic — verified locally and it was a real bug, not just style: `stripParens("MIT)")` returned `"MIT"` (silently stripping an unmatched trailing paren), which would have let a malformed license string slip past the nested-expression guard and get classified as a plain valid license instead of `REVIEW_NEEDED`. `stripParens("(MIT) OR (GPL-3.0)")` also mangled into `"MIT) OR (GPL-3.0"`. Fixed in 0a4a964: `stripParens` now does a proper depth-scan to confirm the leading `(` and trailing `)` are a genuine matching outer pair before stripping — anything unbalanced or multi-group is left untouched so the nested-expression guard catches it. Added regression tests for both cases. Also fixed the README markdownlint MD031 spacing issue (and a couple more instances of the same missing-blank-line pattern elsewhere in the file, to avoid another round-trip on the same rule). @coderabbitai review |
stripParens() used /^\(|\)$/g, which independently strips a leading "("
or trailing ")" even when they don't form a matching pair. This let
malformed license strings slip past the nested-expression guard — e.g.
"MIT)" silently normalized to "MIT" and was classified as a plain
valid license instead of REVIEW_NEEDED — and mangled multi-group
expressions like "(MIT) OR (GPL-3.0)" into "MIT) OR (GPL-3.0)".
Now only strips a single pair when it's confirmed to be a genuine
fully-wrapping outer match (depth-scanned), leaving anything else
untouched so the nested-expression guard catches it correctly. Also
fixes a markdownlint MD031 (missing blank lines around fenced code
blocks) flagged in README.md.

@akshatvirmani all CodeRabbit threads are now replied to and resolved (0 open), and One thing on the repo side: the "Validate PR — Studio runtime check (Phase 2, testing)" run for this push failed in 4s at the checkout step, before touching the kit: https://github.com/Lamatic/AgentKit/actions/runs/38234291755 So it looks like a workflow configuration issue that will affect any fork PR rather than something in this kit (the earlier |

Overview
Adds the License Compliance Auditor kit (
kits/license-compliance-auditor/) — an automated template that scans a project's dependency licenses, flags copyleft/GPL-family risk against a configurable allow-list, and generates a markdown compliance report. Problem statement checked against every merged kit and all historicalagentkit-challengePR titles — no overlap found.Flow Architecture
triggerNode_1): Acceptsdependency_licenses(a JSON array of{name, version, license}— the standard output shape of tools likelicense-checker --jsonorpip-licenses --format=json) and an optionalallow_list(comma-separated SPDX ids).codeNode_210): Deterministic JS logic that normalizes each license string, merges the default allow-list (MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-2/3-Clause, ISC, 0BSD, Unlicense, CC0-1.0) with any caller-supplied allow-list, and classifies every dependency asOK,BLOCKED(copyleft/high-risk: GPL/AGPL/LGPL/SSPL/etc.), orREVIEW_NEEDED(missing/unrecognized license). No LLM involved in the classification itself, so there are no hallucinated verdicts.LLMNode_430): Gemini consumes the structured findings (wrapped in an untrusted-data tag to guard against prompt injection) and writes a markdown compliance report: Status / Blocked Dependencies / Needs Manual Review / Compliant Summary / Remediation Steps / Conclusion.responseNode_triggerNode_1): Returns the generated report via a wiredoutputMapping.Validation & Testing
node samples/test_classifier.js— local, no-deployment-needed self-check asserting the classification logic against a realistic fixture (MIT → OK, GPL-3.0 → BLOCKED, missing license → REVIEW_NEEDED).
