User description

The same questions keep coming up on Discord and in issues, so I added an FAQ page to the site, linked from the home page.

It covers:

  • how to install and update
  • why recovery waits 14 nights before it shows a score
  • why imported WHOOP history doesn't count toward those 14 nights
  • what to do when a band says connected but sends nothing. on a 5.0 or MG: forget the band, take it off until the green light goes out, tap until it flashes blue, then pair again
  • moving to a new phone without losing data

Summary by Sourcery

Provide users with a centralized FAQ and make it accessible throughout the site.

New Features:

  • Add a standalone FAQ page covering installation, updates, pairing, syncing, recovery baselines, data imports, phone migration, and privacy.

Enhancements:

  • Improve documentation discoverability by linking the FAQ from the home page navigation and footer.
  • Clarify the default status of anonymous crash reporting in the privacy policy.

Documentation:

  • Document common setup, troubleshooting, scoring, data management, and privacy questions for Edge users.

Chores:

  • Add the FAQ page to the site sitemap.

Inaccurate Baseline Claim

The FAQ states "Edge learns your personal baseline from its own measurements, which takes about 14 nights of wear." Per AGENTS.md §4.1, the project has a hard rule against fabricating or overstating metric confidence. If the actual baseline window is configurable, adaptive, or differs from exactly 14 nights in the code, this static claim will mislead users and contradict the app's own behavior (e.g., showing a score earlier or later). Verify the hardcoded "14 nights" matches the actual threshold in the derivation engine before publishing.

<p>Edge learns your personal baseline from its own measurements, which takes about
14 nights of wear. Until then, recovery stays empty instead of showing a number it
  can't stand behind.</p>
Import Claim Mismatch

The FAQ states a NOOP export "brings in its recorded sensor data, which Edge then scores itself." If the import path for NOOP data does not actually feed into the baseline derivation pipeline (analogous to the stated reason WHOOP history is excluded from the 14-night baseline), this claim is inconsistent with the WHOOP import explanation on the same page. Confirm whether NOOP-imported sensor data does or does not count toward the baseline, and make both answers consistent.

<h3>Can I import my WHOOP or NOOP data?</h3>
<p>Yes, from <strong>Profile &rarr; More settings &rarr; Export, backup, import &rarr; Import a file</strong>.
A WHOOP data export brings in your daily recovery, sleep and strain. A NOOP export
brings in its recorded sensor data, which Edge then scores itself.</p>

**Barcode lookups aren't disclosed**

When a user scans a barcode with lookup still at its default setting, a user scans a barcode on a fresh install, `offLookupAllowed` defaults to true and sends the code to Open Food Facts; the answer omits this default-on request, so users are told their data stays on the phone unless they choose to send it without being told that scanning transmits the barcode.

Disclose automatic update checks for opted-in sideload builds.

Only builds compiled with ENABLE_SIDELOAD_OTA=true perform this check. In those builds, the check is enabled by default and can send an unauthenticated request on launch or resume. The request exposes the client IP and request time without a separate send action. Limit this answer to health data, or disclose the update check and its setting.

go off the phone, and a backup carries the data but not the profile or

Add Privacy to the report path.
