kiira now type-checks the root README and the package READMEs, the same as docs/. With the new include, kiira found 212 errors in 50 READMEs. 15 of them are the root README and its copies. Some examples fail against the current API when a user copies them. This PR fixes the errors in 49 READMEs and excludes the Angular README: pnpm test:kiira passes with 2129 snippets.

🎯 Changes

  • Checker setup. kiira.config.ts adds README.md and packages/*/README.md to include and to the React override. The Solid and Octane READMEs go into their overrides. packages/ai-angular/README.md (14 of the errors) is excluded for the same reason as the Angular docs pages. nx.json adds the READMEs to the test:kiira inputs. Without that, a PR that changes only a README gets a cached pass.
  • Examples that were wrong against the current API:
    • ai-mcp: imported openaiText from @tanstack/ai-openai/adapters. That subpath does not exist.
    • ai-memory: chat() had no threadId, which is required since refactor!: remove every deprecated API and release all packages as 1.0.0 #1840.
    • ai-isolate-cloudflare, ai-code-mode-snippets: model: and toolRegistry: are not chat() options, and anthropic() is now anthropicText(). The snippets fix uses tools: toolsRegistry.getTools(), the same as docs/code-mode/code-mode-with-snippets.md.
    • ai-sandbox-boxd, -e2b, -railway, -upstash-box: defineWorkspace({}) had no source, which is required. ai-sandbox used secrets.TOKEN but registered only GH, so resolveSecret throws at run time.
    • openai-base: the Grok example extends OpenAIBaseResponsesTextAdapter since feat(ai-grok): use xAI Responses API #812. The diagram line moves with it.
  • All other fences. Missing imports are added. Values that the user supplies use declare const x: Type, the same as in docs/. group= is used only where fences share state. One fence gets ignore: in ai-code-mode, the code that the model writes for the sandbox. A top-level return is correct there.
  • Format. Some fences parse now, so oxfmt formats them. pnpm format in autofix.ci makes the same change.
  • Copies. The 14 READMEs in scripts/copy-readme.js change only through the root README (pnpm copy:readme).

No changeset: this changes README text only, like #1316. The fixes go to npm with the next release of each package.

✅ Checklist

  • I have followed the steps in the Contributing guide.
  • I have tested code changes locally with pnpm run test:pr, or these tests do not apply to this pull request.
  • I fully understand the code in this pull request, including any code generated with AI assistance.
  • Docs: I updated docs/ for this change, or this change is not user-facing.
  • Changeset: I added a changeset (pnpm changeset), or this PR does not change a published package.

🚀 Release Impact

  • This change affects published code, and I have generated a changeset.
  • This change is docs/CI/dev-only (no release).

Testing

Commands run

  1. pnpm test:kiira: 2129 snippets, 0 failures. On main with only the new include: 212 errors in 50 READMEs. On main as is: 1942 snippets. The run time stays the same: 13.8 s, against 14.4 s on main.
  2. oxfmt --check .: pass. knip and sherif: same output as on main.
  3. Not run: the full pnpm test:pr. This PR changes only Markdown and checker config.

Manual test

  1. On main, add 'packages/*/README.md' to include in kiira.config.ts.
  2. Run pnpm test:kiira. It fails on the READMEs.
  3. On this branch, run pnpm test:kiira. It passes.
  4. Break one fence in a package README and run it again. It fails.

How this PR makes testing easy

test:kiira in CI now covers the README fences. No new test file.

Risk / rollback

Low. Markdown and checker config only. Two READMEs in open PRs fail the check after this merges: the ai-zai README (missing imports) and the ai-sandbox-render README (defineWorkspace({/* … */}), the error that this PR fixes for four sandbox READMEs). A new README with non-React JSX needs its own override. To undo, revert the PR.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated examples across the AI packages with explicit imports, types, and setup so they’re more complete and ready to adapt.
    • Expanded examples for ACP transports, permission handling, sandbox configuration, chat connections, and provider integrations.
    • Corrected provider and model references, clarified framework syntax, and added safer handling for optional values.
  • Chores
    • Expanded documentation checks to cover root and package-level READMEs, with an exception for one package README.

kiira now checks README.md and packages/*/README.md, and nx.json lists
them as test:kiira inputs. Fix the errors this found in 49 READMEs,
including examples that fail against the current API (ai-mcp,
ai-memory, ai-isolate-cloudflare, ai-code-mode-snippets, the sandbox
providers, openai-base).

Walkthrough

The pull request expands Kiira validation to root and package READMEs. It also updates README examples across provider, ACP, sandbox, chat, and utility packages with imports, types, declarations, and revised usage patterns.

Changes: README examples and validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Kiira README validation scope
kiira.config.ts, nx.json
Kiira patterns and the test:kiira inputs now include root and package READMEs. The Angular README is excluded, and JSX overrides include selected package READMEs.

The changes have bounded documentation and validation risks: some future README-only changes can skip type-checking, and copied ACP examples can leave sandbox processes running. Address these gaps or accept them explicitly; no published runtime implementation changes are implicated.

71-72: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Make package README changes select test:kiira.

Under Nx 23.1.1, nx affected selects projects by file ownership and dependents, and ignores target inputs. A change to packages/ai-react/README.md selects no test:kiira task, so kiira check is skipped. Make the root project depend on the packages whose READMEs are checked, or enable task-based affected after upgrading to Nx 23.3+.

Scope of the finding

The root README is not affected. It is owned by the root project, which runs test:kiira. The gap applies to package READMEs whose package is outside the root project's workspace-dependency closure.

Label the withGrokDefaults declaration as a placeholder.

The declare function withGrokDefaults line has no implementation, and the surrounding prose does not say so. A reader who copies the subclass unchanged gets a ReferenceError in the constructor, before new OpenAI(...) runs. Add a comment that states the function must be implemented.

Add session cleanup to the chatStream example.

The example starts a session with startAcpSession but never calls session.dispose(). Ending the translation does not dispose the session, so a consumer that stops early can leave the spawned process running. Wrap the yield* translateAcpStream(...) block in try, and call await session.dispose() in finally, as the adapter does.

Dispose the ACP session in the WebSocket example.

The example stores startAcpSession nothing and never calls a disposal path on success. Its dispose hook closes the connection and kills the sandbox server, but only the session handle's dispose() reaches that hook. Assign the result to session and call session.dispose() when finished.
