Reviewed 6bcb91162415241bf01f4f271e4161a2111fa494. Found three reproducible issues, detailed inline: a public API import regression, extended cache lifetime, and quadratic JWS verification.
Validation: 25 existing tests passed on Python 3.14.4 using the locked dependencies in an isolated, offline environment. The test that downloads the public suffix list was excluded. Focused regression checks reproduced all three findings; the import and cache-expiry checks pass against the base implementations. No repository files were changed.

[P2] Preserve the exported PublicKey alias. Replacing the alias with PublicKeyTypes removes an existing runtime import: from dnstapir.key_resolver import PublicKey succeeds at the base and raises ImportError at this head. aggrec/helpers.py imports it at module load, so upgrading that consumer to this revision breaks startup. Keep PublicKey = PublicKeyTypes as a compatibility alias, or coordinate the consumer migration before removing it.

[P2] Preserve the remaining lifetime when backfilling memory. MemoryKeyCache.set() starts a fresh full TTL, even when the Redis entry is about to expire. Reproduced with ttl=300: worker A stores a key at t=0; worker B first reads it at t=299; at t=301 Redis has expired it, but B still returns the old key and can do so until approximately t=599. Key rotations or removals can therefore take almost twice the configured TTL to become visible. The base CombinedKeyCache returns a miss at t=301. Preserve Redis's remaining lifetime when backfilling, or omit backfill until that lifetime can be preserved.

[P2] Verify only the current signature inside this loop. JWS.verify(key=key) checks every signature in the object, so calling it once per signature produces quadratic work when none verifies. A local fixture with 10 invalid signatures referencing one resolvable kid performs 100 signature checks and 10 key resolutions; an uncached UrlKeyResolver also repeats the HTTP lookup. This scales to N² checks for an externally supplied N-signature message. Verify the current signature with its resolved key, and reuse key resolutions within this verification call.

We assume the keyresolver does caching and that the kid is unique. Will not fix at this time.

Re-reviewed d269ed84d7cf0b7c13c48c3f6231bfa049850072. The previous PublicKey import and cache-lifetime findings are fixed; both focused regression checks now pass.
One new JWS compatibility regression is detailed inline. The previously reported quadratic verification cost remains reproducible (10 invalid signatures still cause 100 signature checks); I acknowledge the decision to defer it and have not posted a duplicate finding.
Validation: 25 existing tests passed with the locked dependencies on Python 3.14.4 in an isolated, offline environment; the public-suffix download test was excluded. The new valid-JWS fixture passes at both the PR base and the previously reviewed head, but fails at this head. No repository files were changed.

[P2] Preserve support for alg in the unprotected JSON header. This new condition rejects a previously supported JSON JWS with protected={"kid": "node"} and header={"alg": "EdDSA"}: it skips key resolution and raises JWKeyNotFound, although the signature is valid. A locally generated fixture verifies with jwcrypto directly and with both 0df935d and 6bcb911; only this head rejects it. RFC 7515 section 7.2.1 takes the algorithm from the combined protected and unprotected headers. Read alg from either location while retaining jwcrypto's duplicate-header and signature validation, and add a regression test for this layout.
