fix: prevent SQS overflow payload loss and harden queue batch failure handling - #703
Fixes three defects in queue batch publication and the transactional outbox that were confirmed during review of #685, and makes coroutine cancellation consistent across those paths:
SQS overflow payloads are retained after ambiguous server-fault batch responses.
A Redis outbox observer can no longer block later destinations.
A bulk failure listener can no longer replace the original storage or transport error.
Cancellation raised during secondary-error reporting propagates, and shared guards cover cancellation returned by custom outbox drivers or passed to queueing failure events.
Purpose
Prevent permanent job loss on SQS FIFO queues with overflow storage enabled.
Keep Redis outbox delivery independent of post-publication observers such as Horizon's JobPushed listeners.
Give callers and the exception handler the real root cause when a bulk enqueue fails.
Make sure cancellation stops queue work instead of being treated as an ordinary failure.
These changes matter to applications that use SQS overflow storage, the outbox relay, or queue event listeners.
Problem
SQS overflow cleanup after SDK retries. The AWS SDK retries SendMessageBatch after connection errors. If SQS accepted the first attempt but the response was lost, the retried request can still report an entry as Failed. Both bulk dispatch and outbox publication treated every failed entry as never delivered, and deleted overflow payloads that the accepted message still referenced.
FIFO queues: the next outbox retry keeps the same deduplication ID, so SQS acknowledges it without enqueuing a replacement. The outbox row is settled while the broker holds only a message whose pointer no longer resolves, so the job is lost.
Standard queues: the original message fails with InvalidPayloadException.
Redis outbox observer failures.RedisQueue::publishOutboxMessages() threw the first handlePayloadPushed() failure inside the destination loop. Destinations later in the batch on the same connection were never attempted, and their committed rows were released with backoff. Introduced in Add an opt-in transactional queue outbox #685.
Bulk failure listener precedence. When a bulk enqueue failed, a throwing JobQueueingFailed listener replaced the primary error without chaining it, so callers lost the storage or transport error and its stack trace. In SQS bulk dispatch, a throwing JobQueued listener also replaced an explicit SQS rejection. This affected Redis, database and SQS bulk dispatch, which predate Add an opt-in transactional queue outbox #685, and bulk outbox staging, which Add an opt-in transactional queue outbox #685 added.
Cancellation at reporting and custom-driver boundaries. The built-in drivers already propagate bare and wrapped cancellation. Remaining gaps are:
A non-throwing cleanup reporter can swallow cancellation raised by the exception handler. SQS then continues notifying accepted or outstanding members after cancellation, including when reporting an overflow deletion failure.
A custom outbox driver can return cancellation inside OutboxBatchResult::failure. Without checking that returned failure, the relay treats it as an ordinary publication error.
A custom driver can pass cancellation to raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent(). The shared event method needs to enforce the same cancellation policy as the built-in drivers.
Architecture and Implementation
SQS (SqsQueue): The new isSenderFaultRejection() selects failed entries for cleanup only when SQS marks them SenderFault === true. Server faults and entries without the flag keep their overflow payloads, the same way thrown requests are already handled. The bulk and outbox paths both use it.
Batch notifications (Queue):
The new notifyBatchMembersOfFailure() notifies every member and reports ordinary listener failures through reportSecondaryFailure() instead of returning them to be thrown. Existing cancellation propagation in notifyBatchMembers() is preserved.
reportSecondaryFailure() uses the queue's exception handler, propagates cancellation raised during reporting, and falls back to the PHP error log for ordinary reporting failures. Redis outbox, SQS success-notification reporting, and SQS overflow cleanup use the same helper. Overflow cleanup finishes the remaining deletions before propagating cancellation.
Bulk failure paths: StagesOutboxJobs::stageOutboxJobs(), RedisQueue::enqueueBatch(), DatabaseQueue::enqueueBatch() and SqsQueue::raiseBatchFailedEvents() now call notifyBatchMembersOfFailure() and rethrow the primary exception. When SQS bulk dispatch has an explicit rejection, it reports JobQueued listener failures and throws the rejection.
Every destination is published, and the first observer failure is returned as the batch failure along with all accepted row IDs.
If a later destination fails to publish, the transport failure is returned and the observer failure is reported separately.
Outbox relay (OutboxRelay::deliver()): Uses the same cancellation policy for thrown and returned failures. This includes ChildCancellationException returned by the sequential fallback when a custom driver's publication child is canceled. Waiter preserves an existing child-cancellation exception or wraps cancellation from the publication coroutine, and delivery stops without settlement or publication to later connections.
Queueing failure events (Queue::raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent()): Skips the event when the exception was caused by cancellation. Single and bulk dispatch for every driver, and outbox staging, all go through this method. The exception itself still propagates unchanged.
Unchanged: no public signatures, configuration or schemas. No new state; all changes are local to each call.
Design Decisions and Trade-offs
SenderFault instead of SDK retry statistics.
With stats => ['retries' => true], the SDK omits retries_attempted when no retry happened. That result looks the same as stats being disabled, so it cannot prove a single attempt.
Explicit per-entry sender faults are treated as rejections, so permanently rejected messages do not leave a new payload copy on every outbox retry. The flag identifies caller errors; it does not prove the outcome of earlier SDK attempts.
Accepted limitation: a sender fault whose cause changes between attempts could, in theory, still lead to cleanup.
Retained payloads do not expire. Overflow payloads are stored without a TTL. This matches the existing documentation, which says SQS may accept a message even when publication reports an error. Payloads retained after server faults, and copies left behind by outbox retries that use a new lease path, stay until the store is cleaned.
Redis observer failures still mark the batch as failed. Using the existing OutboxBatchResult::$failure avoids a contract change. The relay still reports the error and dispatches OutboxBatchDeliveryFailed with zero failed messages, and the worker sleeps once. A separate observer-failure field was considered and left out to keep the public result class unchanged.
Cancellation checks in shared code. The relay's returned-failure check and the guard in raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent() cover custom drivers and driver results, alongside the existing cancellation checks in the built-in drivers.
Effects of propagating cancellation.
Messages a driver had already accepted when delivery was canceled are not settled, so they are delivered again after their lease expires. This is the same at-least-once behavior as a bare cancellation.
OpenTelemetry producer spans that would have been ended by JobQueueingFailed are not ended in this case, as is already true for a bare cancellation.
Scope of the precedence change. Only bulk failure paths are changed. A listener failure that aborts an otherwise successful batch is still thrown.
One listener failure report per batch. When several members' failure listeners throw, only the first error is reported, matching the previous behavior where only the first was thrown. Reporting every one would usually repeat the same listener error once per member.
Changes
SQS overflow
SqsQueue: add isSenderFaultRejection() and apply it to bulk and outbox cleanup; update the related comments.
Preserve cancellation raised while reporting deletion failures, finish the remaining cleanup, and stop before job notifications.
Batch notifications
Queue::notifyBatchMembersOfFailure(): new helper that reports listener failures.
Queue::reportSecondaryFailure(): preserve cancellation during reporting without allowing ordinary reporting failures to replace the primary error.
Bulk failure handling
StagesOutboxJobs, DatabaseQueue, RedisQueue, SqsQueue: rethrow the primary error and report failure-listener errors.
Redis outbox
RedisQueue::publishOutboxMessages(): continue publishing after observer failures.
Cancellation handling
OutboxRelay::deliver(): stop delivery without settlement when a driver reports a failure caused by cancellation.
Queue::raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent(): skip the event when the exception was caused by cancellation.
Docs
queues.md: state that cancellation, including an exception caused by cancellation, does not dispatch JobQueueingFailed.
Tests
Cancellation during exception reporting: bare and wrapped cancellation propagate, SQS does not notify outstanding members afterward, and Redis outbox publication does not return an ordinary failure. Ordinary reporting errors preserve the original enqueue error and log both notification and reporting failures.
New: SQS outbox server fault after a real SDK retry (SqsClient with MockHandler); SQS bulk server-fault retention; primary-error precedence for Redis, database and staged outbox bulk; Redis outbox observer cancellation; relay handling of wrapped cancellation and child cancellation, including the sequential fallback. Existing Redis dispatch cancellation cases cover both single and bulk dispatch.
Updated: three existing tests that asserted the previous behavior (listener-wins precedence in SqsBatchLifecycleTest, and stopping after an observer failure in RedisOutboxPublicationTest); added SenderFault to two failed-entry fixtures, matching real SQS responses.
Risks and Review Notes
Behavior change for bulk failure listeners: when a bulk enqueue fails, exceptions thrown by JobQueueingFailed listeners are now reported instead of thrown. Callers that caught those listener exceptions now receive the primary error.
Cancellation: cancellation raised during secondary-error reporting propagates instead of being swallowed. Custom drivers passing cancellation to the failure-event method no longer dispatch JobQueueingFailed, and returned outbox cancellation stops delivery without settlement.
SQS: the cleanup decision depends on SQS SenderFault semantics. The end-to-end retry sequence was reproduced with the SDK retry middleware and a mock handler, not against live SQS.
Overflow store growth: payloads retained after server faults increase the store; the existing documentation already recommends monitoring it.
Note
Prevent SQS overflow payload loss and preserve primary queue batch errors
SQS overflow payloads are now cleaned up only for entries marked with SenderFault: true in SqsQueue.php. Server-fault rejections keep their payloads so a later retry or earlier ambiguous attempt can still reference them.
SqsQueue.raiseBatchFailedEvents, DatabaseQueue.enqueueBatch, RedisQueue.enqueueBatch, and StagesOutboxJobs no longer let an ordinary JobQueueingFailed listener error replace the primary failure. Listener errors go through Queue.reportSecondaryFailure, which uses the container's ExceptionHandler or falls back to the PHP error log.
Coroutine cancellation (including wrapped or child cancellation) propagates without dispatching JobQueueingFailed events, and stops OutboxRelay delivery before settlement in OutboxRelay.php.
Extensive regression tests added across database, Redis, SQS, and outbox relay suites.
Risk: batch failure semantics changed — the primary exception is preserved, not the listener error. Check raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent in Queue.php, which now suppresses failure events for cancellation-caused exceptions, documented in queues.md. Also check isSenderFaultRejection, which requires an explicit boolean true SenderFault.
The AWS SDK retries SendMessageBatch on connection errors. When SQS
accepted the first attempt but the response was lost, the final
attempt can still report an entry as failed. Treating every failed
entry as never delivered deleted overflow payloads that the accepted
message still referenced. With FIFO deduplication, the later outbox
retry is acknowledged without a replacement message, so the job is lost.
Only clean up entries SQS rejects as sender faults, which every attempt
would have been rejected for. Server faults and entries without the
flag keep their payloads, matching how ambiguous request failures are
already handled. This applies to bulk dispatch and outbox publication.
Batch notifications collect listener failures and surface the first one
only after every member has been notified. A failure caused by coroutine
cancellation, such as a cleanup error wrapping CanceledException, was
collected like an ordinary error, so the remaining members kept being
notified after the coroutine was canceled.
Rethrow failures caused by cancellation immediately so the operation
stops instead of continuing normal work.
Redis outbox publication stores each destination with its own script
and then notifies observers such as Horizon's JobPushed listeners. An
observer failure was thrown inside the destination loop, so the
remaining destinations on the same connection were never attempted and
their committed rows were released for retry with backoff.
Observers run after the payloads are stored, so continue publishing
the remaining destinations and return the first observer failure with
every accepted row. If a later destination fails to publish, return the
transport failure and report the observer failure separately.
When a bulk enqueue failed, a JobQueueingFailed listener that threw
replaced the storage or transport error, without chaining it, so callers
and the exception handler lost the root cause. SQS bulk dispatch also
let a JobQueued listener failure replace an explicit SQS rejection.
This affected Redis, database and SQS bulk dispatch and bulk outbox
staging.
Add notifyBatchMembersOfFailure(), which still notifies every member
but reports listener failures through the exception handler instead of
throwing them. Failure paths now rethrow the primary error. Listener
failures that abort an otherwise successful batch are still thrown.

Walkthrough
Queue failure handling now preserves the original operation exception when listeners fail. Cancellation interrupts failure notification or outbox delivery in the covered cases. Redis publication continues after observer failures, and SQS retains overflow payloads unless an entry is marked as a sender-fault rejection.
Batch failure notifications report listener errors without replacing the original queueing exception. Cancellation-related errors skip failure events or propagate during reporting. Tests cover these outcomes across queue implementations and outbox staging.
Redis publication continues across destination groups after observer failures. Cancellation-related observer or reporting failures propagate.
SQS rejection and overflow handling src/queue/src/SqsQueue.php, tests/Queue/Outbox/SqsOutboxPublicationTest.php, tests/Queue/QueueSqsQueueTest.php, tests/Queue/SqsBatchLifecycleTest.php
SQS overflow payloads are deleted only when SenderFault is true. Tests cover ambiguous server-fault outcomes, notification failures, and cancellation during reporting or cleanup.
Outbox delivery can keep running and settle a batch after a child cancellation instead of stopping. This path is narrow, since it requires a sequential-publisher failure to be a child cancellation. The relay check should handle ChildCancellationException before merging.

The title names the two main themes of the changeset: SQS overflow payload retention (SenderFault-based cleanup) and hardening of batch failure handling (primary-error precedence, Redis observer continuation, cancellation guards). It is a short, single-sentence conventional-commit style title that a reviewer scanning history can use to identify the primary change. It is somewhat broad, since it also covers cancellation handling and docs, but it refers to real, central aspects of the diff.

Prevent SQS overflow payload loss and preserve queue failure causes
🐞 Bug fix🧪 Tests📝 Documentation🕐 40+ Minutes
AI Description
• Retain SQS overflow payloads when batch failures cannot prove the message was rejected.
• Keep Redis outbox destinations independent and preserve primary bulk errors when listeners fail.
• Stop queue work on wrapped cancellation, with regression tests and updated event documentation.
The following are alternative approaches to this PR:
1. Retain every failed SQS overflow payload
➕ Avoids relying on SenderFault as proof of rejection.
➖ Leaves payload copies for permanently invalid messages on every retry.
2. Separate observer failures in OutboxBatchResult
➕ Distinguishes publication failures from post-publication observer failures.
➖ Changes the public result contract and requires corresponding relay handling.
Recommendation: Keep the PR's approach. SenderFault limits cleanup to identifiable rejections, while the existing result contract accommodates Redis observer failures without a public API change. The trade-off is retained payloads after ambiguous SQS failures, which need operational monitoring.

OutboxRelay.phpStop outbox delivery on wrapped driver cancellation+10/-3
Stop outbox delivery on wrapped driver cancellation
• Checks both returned and thrown driver failures for underlying cancellation inside the publication coroutine, preventing settlement when delivery is canceled.

publishOutboxMessages() synchronously reports an earlier observer error from its transport-error
catch block, before returning the batch result to the relay. If a later destination’s publication
fails and the configured exception handler blocks while reporting, the relay cannot settle the
claimed rows or release its borrowed queue until reporting finishes.
+ if ($observerFailure !== null) {+ PoolErrorReporter::report($observerFailure);
Evidence
Redis retains the first observer failure and, if a later publication throws, reports that failure
before returning its result. The reporter invokes the application exception handler synchronously;
the queue proxy releases its borrowed queue only after the publication callback returns, and the
relay settles rows only after publication returns.

## Issue description
Redis outbox publication synchronously reports an earlier observer failure when a later destination fails, delaying lease settlement and queue release.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/queue/src/RedisQueue.php[504-518]
- src/queue/src/Outbox/OutboxRelay.php[68-115]
## Recommended Fix
Carry the secondary observer failure out of the publication callback without reporting it there. Have the relay report it after settlement, while preserving the transport failure as the batch’s primary failure.

In stageOutboxJobs() the JobQueued notification for each group runs inside the try. When
notifyBatchMembers() rethrows a wrapped cancellation, catch (CanceledException) does not catch
it because it only matches bare exceptions, so it falls into catch (Throwable). That block calls
notifyBatchMembersOfFailure() and fires JobQueueingFailed for every member of every remaining
group after the coroutine was canceled. The same thing happens when $dispatcher->store() fails
with an error that wraps a cancellation, so the PR's goal that 'remaining members are not notified
after cancellation' is not met for bulk outbox staging.
} catch (Throwable $exception) {
- $failure = $this->notifyBatchMembers($prepared, function (array $member) use ($queue, $exception): void {+ $this->notifyBatchMembersOfFailure($prepared, function (array $member) use ($queue, $exception): void {
$this->raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent($queue, $member['job'], $member['payload'], $member['delay'], $exception);
});
- throw $failure ?? $exception;+ throw $exception;
Evidence
stageOutboxJobs() calls notifyBatchMembers() and throws its result inside the try block (lines
181-187). The catch at 189 matches only bare CanceledException, so any Throwable where
Coroutine::causedByCancellation() is true reaches line 191. Line 192 then notifies all members
still in $prepared. notifyBatchMembers() (Queue.php 630-633) rethrows wrapped cancellation
precisely to stop these notifications, but this catch block undoes that.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
In `stageOutboxJobs()`, `catch (Throwable)` treats wrapped cancellation, including the cancellation `notifyBatchMembers()` rethrows on purpose, as an ordinary failure. It then fires `JobQueueingFailed` for every remaining member after the coroutine was canceled.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/queue/src/Concerns/StagesOutboxJobs.php[189-197]
- src/queue/src/Queue.php[650-655]
## Recommended Fix
At the top of the `catch (Throwable $exception)` block, rethrow when `Coroutine::causedByCancellation($exception)` is true, before calling `notifyBatchMembersOfFailure()`. Another option is to add that guard inside `notifyBatchMembersOfFailure()` with the primary exception passed in, so the Redis, Database and SQS failure paths get the same protection. Add a test where a `JobQueued` listener in the first group throws a RuntimeException wrapping CanceledException, and assert that no `JobQueueingFailed` event fires for later groups.

3. Only the first failure-listener error is logged 🐞 Bug◔ Observability
Description
notifyBatchMembersOfFailure() passes only the single Throwable that notifyBatchMembers() returns
to PoolErrorReporter::report(), and notifyBatchMembers() keeps just the first failure
($exception ??= $throwable). Before this change the failure listener's exception reached the
caller. Now that failures are reported instead of thrown, any failure from a second or later member
or listener is dropped and never reaches the exception handler or logs.
+ protected function notifyBatchMembersOfFailure(array $members, Closure $notification): void+ {+ if (($exception = $this->notifyBatchMembers($members, $notification)) !== null) {+ PoolErrorReporter::report($exception);+ }+ }
Evidence
notifyBatchMembers() collects failures with $exception ??= $throwable (Queue.php line 635) and
returns one Throwable. notifyBatchMembersOfFailure() reports only that value.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
`notifyBatchMembersOfFailure()` reports only the first listener failure. Because the failures are no longer thrown, every later one is lost.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/queue/src/Queue.php[619-655]
## Recommended Fix
In `notifyBatchMembersOfFailure()`, wrap each member's notification in its own try/catch. Rethrow on `CanceledException` or when `Coroutine::causedByCancellation()` is true; otherwise call `PoolErrorReporter::report()` for each caught Throwable instead of keeping only the first.

Outbox publication must let coroutine cancellation propagate so the
relay stops without settling the batch. Drivers only rethrew a bare
CanceledException; a failure wrapping cancellation, such as an observer
cleanup error, was returned as an ordinary batch failure. The relay
then settled the accepted rows, released the rest with backoff and
kept running.
Check the publication result in the relay, which covers every driver
including custom ones, and rethrow a failure caused by cancellation.
The Waiter reports it as child cancellation and delivery stops
unsettled, matching how a bare cancellation is handled.
Enqueue failure paths skip JobQueueingFailed for a bare
CanceledException, but an exception that wraps cancellation, such as a
cleanup error raised while the coroutine was canceled, still dispatched
the event. In bulk outbox staging this meant every remaining member
received a failure event after a JobQueued listener propagated
cancellation.
Skip the event in raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent() whenever the exception
was caused by cancellation. This covers single and bulk dispatch for
every driver and outbox staging. The exception itself still propagates
unchanged. Document that cancellation does not dispatch the event.

Without checking that returned failure, the relay treats it as an ordinary publication error.raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent(). The shared event method needs to enforce the same cancellation policy as the built-in drivers.Architecture and Implementation
SqsQueue): The newisSenderFaultRejection()selects failed entries for cleanup only when SQS marks themSenderFault === true. Server faults and entries without the flag keep their overflow payloads, the same way thrown requests are already handled. The bulk and outbox paths both use it.Queue):notifyBatchMembersOfFailure()notifies every member and reports ordinary listener failures throughreportSecondaryFailure()instead of returning them to be thrown. Existing cancellation propagation innotifyBatchMembers()is preserved.reportSecondaryFailure()uses the queue's exception handler, propagates cancellation raised during reporting, and falls back to the PHP error log for ordinary reporting failures. Redis outbox, SQS success-notification reporting, and SQS overflow cleanup use the same helper. Overflow cleanup finishes the remaining deletions before propagating cancellation.StagesOutboxJobs::stageOutboxJobs(),RedisQueue::enqueueBatch(),DatabaseQueue::enqueueBatch()andSqsQueue::raiseBatchFailedEvents()now callnotifyBatchMembersOfFailure()and rethrow the primary exception. When SQS bulk dispatch has an explicit rejection, it reportsJobQueuedlistener failures and throws the rejection.RedisQueue::publishOutboxMessages()):OutboxRelay::deliver()): Uses the same cancellation policy for thrown and returned failures. This includesChildCancellationExceptionreturned by the sequential fallback when a custom driver's publication child is canceled.Waiterpreserves an existing child-cancellation exception or wraps cancellation from the publication coroutine, and delivery stops without settlement or publication to later connections.Queue::raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent()): Skips the event when the exception was caused by cancellation. Single and bulk dispatch for every driver, and outbox staging, all go through this method. The exception itself still propagates unchanged.Design Decisions and Trade-offs
SenderFaultinstead of SDK retry statistics.stats => ['retries' => true], the SDK omitsretries_attemptedwhen no retry happened. That result looks the same as stats being disabled, so it cannot prove a single attempt.OutboxBatchResult::$failureavoids a contract change. The relay still reports the error and dispatchesOutboxBatchDeliveryFailedwith zero failed messages, and the worker sleeps once. A separate observer-failure field was considered and left out to keep the public result class unchanged.raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent()cover custom drivers and driver results, alongside the existing cancellation checks in the built-in drivers.JobQueueingFailedare not ended in this case, as is already true for a bare cancellation.Changes
SqsQueue: addisSenderFaultRejection()and apply it to bulk and outbox cleanup; update the related comments.Queue::notifyBatchMembersOfFailure(): new helper that reports listener failures.Queue::reportSecondaryFailure(): preserve cancellation during reporting without allowing ordinary reporting failures to replace the primary error.StagesOutboxJobs,DatabaseQueue,RedisQueue,SqsQueue: rethrow the primary error and report failure-listener errors.RedisQueue::publishOutboxMessages(): continue publishing after observer failures.OutboxRelay::deliver(): stop delivery without settlement when a driver reports a failure caused by cancellation.Queue::raiseJobQueueingFailedEvent(): skip the event when the exception was caused by cancellation.queues.md: state that cancellation, including an exception caused by cancellation, does not dispatchJobQueueingFailed.SqsClientwithMockHandler); SQS bulk server-fault retention; primary-error precedence for Redis, database and staged outbox bulk; Redis outbox observer cancellation; relay handling of wrapped cancellation and child cancellation, including the sequential fallback. Existing Redis dispatch cancellation cases cover both single and bulk dispatch.SqsBatchLifecycleTest, and stopping after an observer failure inRedisOutboxPublicationTest); addedSenderFaultto two failed-entry fixtures, matching real SQS responses.Risks and Review Notes
JobQueueingFailedlisteners are now reported instead of thrown. Callers that caught those listener exceptions now receive the primary error.JobQueueingFailed, and returned outbox cancellation stops delivery without settlement.SenderFaultsemantics. The end-to-end retry sequence was reproduced with the SDK retry middleware and a mock handler, not against live SQS.Note
Prevent SQS overflow payload loss and preserve primary queue batch errors
SenderFault: truein SqsQueue.php. Server-fault rejections keep their payloads so a later retry or earlier ambiguous attempt can still reference them.SqsQueue.raiseBatchFailedEvents,DatabaseQueue.enqueueBatch,RedisQueue.enqueueBatch, andStagesOutboxJobsno longer let an ordinaryJobQueueingFailedlistener error replace the primary failure. Listener errors go throughQueue.reportSecondaryFailure, which uses the container'sExceptionHandleror falls back to the PHP error log.JobQueueingFailedevents, and stopsOutboxRelaydelivery before settlement in OutboxRelay.php.raiseJobQueueingFailedEventin Queue.php, which now suppresses failure events for cancellation-caused exceptions, documented in queues.md. Also checkisSenderFaultRejection, which requires an explicit booleantrueSenderFault.Macroscope summarized 1d23cd2.
