I'm finishing my computer science degree at BYU-Idaho. I like building things I can actually use, and I've been especially interested in cybersecurity, AI, and learning how different systems fit together. I'm also preparing for the next step in my U.S. Navy career.
TrailPack is my senior project and the biggest thing I've built so far. It's a live hiking planner that brings together trail details, weather, park alerts, and your trip plans to make a packing list you can understand and adjust. I built it with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Supabase, and took it from an early class prototype through testing, security work, and a public release. You can try it here.
- Pong Arcade: A two-player game in Python with scoring, collision physics, and a few different game states.
- Currency Converter: A Node.js app that gets live exchange rates and keeps a history of conversions during a session.
- Hangman: A C++ word game with repeat rounds, saved words, and a persistent win streak.
- Tic-Tac-Toe and Student Gradebook: Console projects where I practiced object-oriented design, input handling, and saving data between runs.
I'm also learning Elixir through my current coursework, exploring the Ash and Igniter projects, and trying to push three PRs to the overall Ash repository.
