Summary

  • expose the dynamic search rule lastUpdatedAt response field as optional last_updated_at
  • verify filter conditions round-trip through the create/update and get APIs
  • add model regression coverage for camel-case timestamp parsing and filter values

Closes #1267

Validation

  • uv run pytest -q tests/models/test_search_rule.py tests/client/test_client_dynamic_search_rules_meilisearch.py (7 passed against Meilisearch v1.56.0)
  • uv run ruff check .
  • uv run ruff format --check .
  • uv run mypy meilisearch

AI assistance

Codex helped draft the model and test changes. I reviewed the diff and verified it with Ruff, mypy, and a real Meilisearch server.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Search rules now expose an optional last-updated timestamp when one is available. This provides the timestamp alongside the rule’s existing response data.
  • Tests
    • Added coverage confirming that timestamps and filter conditions are preserved when reading search rules, and that timestamp values can be parsed as timezone-aware dates.

Walkthrough

The SearchRule model now includes an optional last_updated_at field. Tests cover parsing a response with that timestamp and filter conditions, and creating and retrieving a rule with filter conditions and a timezone-aware timestamp.

Changes: Dynamic Search Rules

Layer / File(s) Summary
Model timestamp response
meilisearch/models/search_rule.py, tests/models/test_search_rule.py
SearchRule adds an optional last_updated_at field. A model test checks a response containing a timestamp and filter conditions.
Client filter condition coverage
tests/client/test_client_dynamic_search_rules_meilisearch.py
Client tests check filter conditions and timezone-aware timestamps when creating and retrieving a rule.

Explanation

Issue [#1267] requires filter-condition support and the lastUpdatedAt response field. SearchRule now exposes optional last_updated_at, and CamelBase maps lastUpdatedAt to that field. The model test covers timestamp parsing and nested filter values. The integration test creates a rule with conditions.filter.values, reads it with get_dynamic_search_rule, and validates the returned timestamp.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The reviewed files contain one response-model field and tests for [#1267] timestamp parsing, filter-condition round-tripping, and dynamic search rule responses. The changes have a direct connection to the linked issue. No unrelated changes are evidenced.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 0.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 1 functions across 3 files.

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.
