The documentation lacks a proper description of how the data should be made available to the widget. List og objects? Separate entity specialization? Something else?
I think I can help a bit here. As mentioned in the Advanced section of the Charts doc, these widgets are heavily based on their plotly.js counterparts. To learn more about how data is made available to any widget, such as our chart widgets, please visit their corresponding plotly.js pages based on the ones your app uses.
But sometimes our widgets' relationship to plotly.js is possible to miss. I have expanded some of our mentions of plotly.js on that page in this PR, so hopefully it will be harder to miss. We also have an info bubble at the top of the page that highlights the details on the plotly.js official documentation site. And for further information on configuring charts, please see relavant chart docs which will be updated by the PR mentioned above.
