Opper (https://opper.ai) is an EU-hosted gateway with an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so it works with the existing openai_compatible backend and needs no new backend module or registration. Same shape as the Novita AI example (microsoft#214): - docs/guide/new-backend.md: an Opper row in the provider examples table - .env.example: a commented Opper block under the OPENAI_COMPATIBLE_* section The example model claude-sonnet-4-6 is a pool name from Opper's public catalogue (GET https://api.opper.ai/v3/models). Tests and mkdocs were not run locally. Disclosure: Opper is my startup. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

The five-line example is consistent with the existing The remaining question is incremental project value. The guide already documents provider base URLs, API keys, model IDs and role overrides, including gateways serving multiple model families. This adds another provider entry without establishing a distinct SkillOpt setup problem or interoperability requirement. Applying the same current criterion used for #308, I would leave this outside the maintenance merge set. There is no request for a live paid-service test or a larger rewrite to expand the PR. Summary
Adds Opper as an example provider for the existing
openai_compatiblebackend, alongside the Novita AI example (#214). Opper is an EU-hosted AI gateway with an OpenAI-compatible endpoint (700+ models from 50+ providers behind one key), so no new backend module or registration is needed.Changes
