Adds an m1 milestone with two quests and two condition quests:

Planning decisions (paper trail)

Goal: a stand-alone Voice AI demo on moq.dev where you talk to a Pipecat agent over MoQ, with a live buffer/packet view showing MoQ's advantage over WebRTC under bursty loss. The blog post (voice-api-2) embeds it later.

  • ✅ Yes
  • Yes, but split
  • Narrower (visualization only)

Location

  • ✅ /voice page + /demo card
  • Inline on /demo
  • Separate site under sites/

Loss

  • Inject + counterfactual ("network blip" button)
  • ✅ Real only
  • Real + counterfactual

Direction

  • ✅ Both (prompt upload and response playback)
  • Response only
  • Prompt only

WebRTC comparison on real data

  • ✅ Mark a WebRTC deadline computed from real arrivals
  • Raw stats only

Visual

  • ✅ Scrolling frame timeline, in the style of src/components/voice/; the maintainer added: draw the buffers under the transcript's words
  • Buffer gauge + counters
  • Both

moq.pro already plans an iframe embed for moq.dev

  • Native Solid component
  • iframe + viz in moq.pro
  • iframe now, native later
  • ✅ (maintainer) Generic work goes in moq, platform-specific work in moq.pro, demos in moq.dev, which means a native moq.dev page

Live API until moq.pro ships production

  • ✅ Point live moq.dev at api.moq.wtf (PUBLIC_VOICE_API_URL)
  • Staging-only until production

Reply-side per-frame arrivals

  • ✅ Upstream in @moq/watch (the maintainer asked for a signal, not a hook/callback, as a new quest)
  • Separate raw subscription
  • Wrap watch.sync.received

Prompt-side receive stats

  • Pipecat MoQ transport (upstream)
  • ✅ moq.pro agent only (avoid upstreaming to Pipecat for now)
  • Defer prompt side

"Avoid upstreaming" scope

  • ✅ Pipecat only; @moq/watch changes still go to moq
  • Both

Repo split (moq: watch signal; moq.pro: API/Turnstile + voice.json; moq.dev: page + viz)

  • ✅ Yes
  • Move viz to moq

Prompt arrival measurement

  • ✅ Second raw subscription in the agent
  • Generic moq-py API

moq.dev milestone

  • ✅ m1
  • m0

Phasing

  • ✅ Two quests: page + transcript first, buffers second
  • One quest

Cross-repo quests

  • ✅ Three PRs (moq.dev, moq, moq.pro)
  • moq.dev only

moq quest placement

  • ✅ New quest (a signal holding a bounded window, since a newest-only signal coalesces)
  • Fold into stats/js.md

Walkthrough

Adds an m1 milestone for a Voice AI demo and documents its page, session, and media requirements. The quest also specifies prerequisites for per-frame arrival data and a voice.json timeline track. A separate plan describes live audio-frame strips beneath transcript words, based on measured prompt and reply audio data.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to 0fc39

The plan presents the buffer visualization as a reference estimate rather than measured WebRTC behavior. No actionable mergeability risk is established by the supplied review context.

Updated quest/m1/voice-buffers.md and quest/m1/watch-arrivals-release.md to match what moq-dev/moq#5311 shipped (ad7970c): the reply side reads the audio decoder's per-frame arrivals() handle, not a bounded-window signal. It yields {timestamp, arrival, late} frames and a gap item with timestamp and duration (Time.Milli). There is no join gap, so the strip starts on the first frame read. The dead link to moq's deleted watch-arrivals quest now points at #5311. quest check passes.

moq.pro admitted moq.dev on staging (moq-dev/moq.pro#2301), so the
voice-api-moqdev condition quest is deleted. @moq/watch 0.6.3 came from
moq's release branch without arrivals() (moq-dev/moq#5311), so that
condition still holds open. voice.json merged in moq.pro but wtf is not
redeployed; its quest link moves to m2. The page starts from
voice-demo.tsx on claude/voice-post-components, and the buffer goal calls
red frames an estimate.

Refreshed the plan before merge (0fc397b), merged with main:

  • Deleted voice-api-moqdev.md: moq.pro admitted moq.dev on staging (moq-dev/moq.pro#2301). The page quest is now unblocked.
  • Kept watch-arrivals-release.md: @moq/watch 0.6.3 was cut from moq's release branch and does not ship arrivals() (feat(watch)!: expose per-frame arrivals through decoder handles moq#5311 is on main only, and breaking). No package bump.
  • voice-timeline-track.md: voice.json merged in moq-dev/moq.pro#2319 but wtf is not redeployed; link now points at moq.pro's quest/m2/voice-timeline.md.
  • voice-page.md: start from src/components/voice-demo.tsx on claude/voice-post-components, which already speaks the current /voice/sessions contract.
  • Applied CodeRabbit's wording: red frames are an estimate against a typical WebRTC jitter buffer.

quest check and just check pass. CodeRabbit reviewed the head with no findings.
