Syncs rp-portfolio/ with the maintenance update of Get Started With Django: Build a Portfolio App.

What changed

  • requirements.txt: Django 4.2.4 -> 5.2.17 (Django 4.2 LTS reached end of extended support in April 2026; 5.2 is the current LTS that supports the article's Python 3.11). asgiref and sqlparse re-pinned to the versions Django 5.2.17 resolves to.
  • settings.py: removed django.template.context_processors.debug, which Django 5.2 no longer includes in the default project template, so the file matches the article's updated TEMPLATES listing. Updated the startproject header and docs links to 5.2.
  • asgi.py / wsgi.py: docs links 4.2 -> 5.2.

Verification

  • Fresh Python 3.11 venv from requirements.txt: manage.py check clean, makemigrations --check reports no changes, migrate succeeds, created a Project in the shell, and runserver returned 200 for /, /projects/, /projects/1/ (302 for /admin/ to login).
  • ruff@0.14.1 format --check and ruff@0.14.1 check pass.
