auth.testdocuments two response fields thatAuthTestResponsedoesn't carry:bot_idandenterprise_id.bot_idis returned whenever the call is made with a bot token. It identifiesthe app installation and is distinct from
user_id, so it can't be derivedfrom the fields already present.
enterprise_idis returned for a token belonging to a team within anEnterprise Grid org.
Reference: https://docs.slack.dev/reference/methods/auth.test
Why it's useful
Slack ties
chat.deleteauthority and DM-history visibility to the appinstallation rather than the bot user. When a delete fails with
cant_delete_message, comparingauth.test'sbot_idagainst the message's ownbot_idis what distinguishes "a different installation posted this" from a realfailure.
MessageEventalready exposesBotId, so today only one half of thatcomparison is reachable.
Notes
JsonPropertyattributes needed — the snake_case naming strategy inSlackJsonSettingsmaps both. Verified by deserializing a documentedbot-token
auth.testbody.string?under#nullable enable, followingOauthV2AccessResponse.Verification
