Follow-up to #14. That PR was merged just before this last change was pushed, so the video isn't on the docs site yet.

Changes

  • Video section: the overview page (docs/index.html) has a new Video section right after the interactive looks. It's a plain <video controls> that plays docs/video/layeris.mp4, with a poster frame of the intro's logo, wordmark and tagline (docs/video/poster.jpg). It plays inline on phones and only downloads metadata until someone presses play.
  • Navigation: the overview's sidebar links to the new section.
  • Styling: a small .video rule in docs/assets/site.css gives the player the same full-width, rounded, --code-background treatment as the page's other images.
  • Build: scripts/build_docs.py generates the section (VIDEO_SRC and VIDEO_POSTER set the paths).
  • Single copy of the MP4: GitHub Pages only serves docs/, so the MP4 moves from video/out/ to docs/video/. The Remotion project now renders straight there, with npm run render for the video and npm run poster for the poster frame, so there's still only one copy. video/README.md points at the new paths, and video/out/ is ignored for scratch stills.

Checks

  • Running python scripts/build_docs.py reproduces the committed docs exactly.
  • pytest: 313 passed.
  • I served docs/ locally and took screenshots of the overview page: the section renders as intended, and the MP4 is served with a 200.

A Video section after the interactive looks plays docs/video/layeris.mp4
with a poster frame of the intro's logo and wordmark, and the overview's
sidebar links to it. The Remotion project now renders straight into
docs/video/ (npm run render, npm run poster), so the MP4 moves there
from video/out/ instead of being kept twice.
