cache A, preds and nodes skip linear regressions at depths before the set of nodes has changed
instead of constructing the full matrix A element by element for all nodes and data points construct by concatenating the A's constructed at each depth

This optimizes and improves automation of fitting and error computation in multi-evaluation SIDT generation.
