Description

@orchrist-pc

    This likely an upstream LuaLS/lua-language-server issue, not a Zed issue. Do you observe this same behavior with other editors (VSCode etc)? If you have steps to reproduce, probably worth filing an issue upstream. But as-is, this is insufficient info to be actionable.

    As an alternative, I've been using emmyluals an alternate LSP:

    I've found it's much faster and has more stable memory usage.
    But I've only spent a few hours with it so far.

    In case you didn't know, we have our own plugin, and we are the only one that supports DAP in lua.

    I did not! Sadly EmmyLuaLs/Zed-EmmyLua does not show up when you search extensions in Zed for lua but does when you search for Emmy*. Subword searches seem to work for other extensions so I have no idea what's up with that. FYI: @MrSubidubi

    @MrSubidubi: Probably ok to close, as without Zed-specific steps to repro, I'd assume this an upstream lua-language-server issue.

    Swapped over to EmmyLua and was having the same issues or worse. Played around a bit and it seems that it may be the project folders I had loaded causing the problem. I'm not sure which specifically but I had my dotfiles loaded into zeditor and when Hyprland swapped to lua for it's configs I installed the plugins. Something in my .config folder is the culprit and I haven't narrowed it down.

    When working in a small project folder for something else I noticed neither language server having massive memory leaks.

    Not sure how to narrow it down easily but at least it's a start
