A successful ping proves transport to that peer, not that your blocks became
canonical. Check the miner logs for mined blocks, then compare the chain tip and
recent blocks with a separately running observer. Keep a dated run log if
you are publishing evidence of an external join. The
[network checklist](../roadmaps/roadmap.md) keeps that evidence open until an
external trace exists.
canonical. After the miner logs a block, inspect the local canonical chain:

```bash
modal node inspect blocks --dir ./my-node
```

`Chain Tip` prints the height and a shortened hash. Run the same command
against a **separately running** observer (replace the directory below with
its actual node directory):

```bash
modal node inspect blocks --dir ./observer-node
```

Compare the height and hash when the tips are at the same height; a higher
tip on one node is not, by itself, a matching block. `inspect` opens a
running node's datastore read-only. Keep the
miner log (including the full mined hash), both inspection outputs, and the
release/version with a UTC timestamp if publishing evidence of an external
join. A local inspection alone cannot prove propagation to independent peers.
The [network checklist](../roadmaps/roadmap.md) keeps that evidence open until
an external trace exists.
